Widzowie będą mieli okazję zobaczyć prace charakteryzujące się wspaniałym warsztatem oraz przemawiające bogactwem faktur, odcieni, kształtów; zetkną się z fotografią, malarstwem, rysunkiem i sztuką wideo. Artysta, mocno zakorzeniony w kulturze alternatywnej, biegły w zacieraniu granicy między realnością, a fikcją, zainspirowany mrocznymi zakątkami ludzkiego umysłu poprowadzi nas przez niepokojący świat emocji, pragnień i lęków.

Z dorobku artysty wybraliśmy prace zajmujące szczególne miejsce w jego twórczości, m.in. takie, które były prezentowane podczas premier dużych i kompletnych projektów (Rumours About Angels), publikowane w Polsce, jak i poza jej granicami.

Inwestor adaptując schron przeciwlotniczy postanowił udostępnić to niezwykłe miejsce mieszkańcom Gdańska, zwłaszcza młodym artystom. Po wystawie część budynku będzie przeznaczona na pracownie artystyczne, właściciele planują już kolejne ciekawe ekspozycje.


Jarek Kubicki (rocznik 76). Projektant, grafik i fotograf, uczęszczał do Liceum Sztuk Plastycznych w Gdyni, studiował wzornictwo przemysłowe na ASP w Gańsku. Twórca stron internetowych, plakatów, identyfikacji wizualnych, kampanii reklamowych oraz kilkudziesięciu okładek do płyt, zdobywca prestiżowych nagród z dziedziny webdesignu, między innymi FWA za oficjalną stronę Zdzisława Beksińskiego oraz stronę projektu Rumours About Angels II.
Jego dorobek poparty został wieloma publikacjami w magazynach i albumach poświęconych grafice i sztuce, takimi jak: Practical Photoshop Magazine, "Paradigmas da Arte Contemporanea", "Imagine the Imagination: New visions of surrealism", czy Adobe Design Center. Uczestnik wystaw w Polsce, Niemczech, Wielkiej Brytanii. Mieszka i pracuje w Sopocie. Jest dyrektorem kreatywnym w agencji Engine.

We would like to invite you to the first individual exhibition which aims to presents the photographs, photomanipulations, graphics and drawing of Jarek Kubicki. The event will take place in the incredible surrounding of an original World War II bunker – Klub Bunkier – a new spot on the artistic map of Gdańsk.

The audience will have the opportunity to see works exhibiting tremendous craftsmanship, which impress with a richness of texture, shades, shapes; will face photography, painting, sketch and video art. The artist is deeply rooted in alternative culture, fluent in effacing the border between reality and fiction, inspired by the darkest corners of the human mind, he leads us through an worrisome world of emotion, urges and fears.

From the artist's achievements we decided to choose works which have taken a special place in his portfolio, mostly works which have been presented during big premiers and other complete projects (Rumors About Angels) published in Poland as well as abroad.

When adapting the air raid shelter, the investor wanted to give this extraordinary place to the people of Gdańsk, especially young artists. After the exhibition a part of the building will house artistic studios; the owners are already planning other interesting exhibitions.

Jarek Kubicki (born in 1976), designer, artist and photographer, graduate of the Fine Arts High school in Gdynia and the industrial design dept. of the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk. Creator of websites, posters, visual IDs, advertising campaigns and a few dozens of music album covers. Winner of many prestigious awards in web design such as FWA for the official Zdzisław Beksiński web page as well as for the website of the Rumors About Angels II project.
Moreover, his achievements have been confirmed and supported by many publications in art and graphics magazines and albums such as: Practical Photoshop Magazine, "Paradigmas da Arte Contemporanea", "Imagine the Imagination: New visions of surrealism" or Adobe Design Center. Partaker of exhibitions in Poland, Germany and the UK. He lives and works in Sopot and is the creative manager of the Engine advertising agency.
